Because he's too detailed. If he was as simple as Spyro or Croc, then he'd be a good design. Right now though, he just looks like a generic MOBA enemy.

Skylanders characters had a peculiar amount of potential, but it was ruined because of how simplistic the gameplay was. This guy would summon crystals from the ground and shoot lasers out of his crystal hands, and depending on your upgrade path your lasers would reflect and refract off of the crystals you've summoned and damage enemies. The problem was that because of how little health most enemies had, it was almost always more efficient to just mash A rather than do anything special.
