Mount the ISOs of 2 & 3, and then run their installers like always.
The SH1 is a PS1 rip that you gotta emulate.
The "sh2proxy" fix works as a no-cd crack as well, and is included in the pack.
If you use the NEW widescreen fixes mentioned in guide, the sh2proxy's EXE works as no-cd crack too.

In case you experience issues saving the game / not being able to edit the disp.ini, make sure the files aren't set to "Read Only", and run the game as Administrator.
If SH2 gets stuck in a black screen upon launch, close it and re-start it again.
You can now see fine emulator settings for SH1 in the guide. You may also try the newer PGXP emulator for wobble-free PS1 graphics.

Play in release order.
Never below Normal modes.
Adjust down Brightness.
Crank up volume.
Replaying each of 'em very recommended.
Don't try to kill everything; turn off the lamp and run / sneak!

Not really. In fact, it is WAY easier to run these legit PC versions. PS2 emulation really sucks, even still. The new fan-fixes are easy and quick to apply, and do remedy majority of the incompatibility issues they could otherwise have.

You do need to emulate the SH1 though, as it's a PS1 game. That should be a total non-issue.

Play in the release order. Start with no mods - only latest patch, OR get the full "Starter Pack" first; these contain bug-fixers and light visual mods that can help performance as well.
Leave big overhauls for later playthrougs. Avoid the "Complete" -mods. Always play on MASTER difficulty for best realism and atmosphere, and disable crosshair.

Don't give up in the beginning! The starting gear sucks ass and first area can be a bit boring.

Then you have a golden opportunity to play some of the classic backlog if you like adventure games. The Dig is good too, I wouldn't recommend Kings Quest just because they are too much trial and error
