Up until he and every other companion gets one shot every turn by the mutants. I just have them all killed on the assault on the military base with the exception of dogmeat who I have wait outside. I dont know why but even in RPG's I have to play them out the same way every time.

Good idea. Doesn't seem to be doing me much good anyway. That hunting rifle is badass and I thought it would suck because my Big Guns is 8%.

Still a small gun. You'll know the big guns when you see them. You wont need points in that for a while.

And yes. Ian really tears up hell with the Uzi. Equip it on him and report back to us after a few quests.
