Why not make Sonic's friends DLC for the 3D games and make

Yeah and they can be on the disc already so you don't have to waste time downloading them

I am not joking, people don't like having to play as Sonic's friends so now you don't have to, but at the same point people want a return to Sonic's friends having a role in the plot and having their own unique adventures separate for Sonic.

I think it's because what people don't like is actually drastically different gameplay styles in the middle of their Sonic games, not different characters. People are fine with the different characters in Mania who have the same core gameplay with a few different abilities, but people react negatively to stuff like the werehog even though it's technically the same character, because it's like playing a completely different game all of a sudden.

I enjoyed most of Sonic Adventure and Adventure 2.

The only parts I didn't like were Amy, Big, and Treasure Hunting in Adventure 2.

If Treasure Hunting in Adventure 2 let you find all of the emeralds at once and gave you a better radar it would be fine.
