Here's a hot tip for all tired gamers, and anyone who tends to feel like they're wasting their life while playing video games. I know there are a lot of you on this board.

Dedicate one day a week to video games. Just one. For example, if your Sundays tend to be lazy, make Sunday your game day. The rest of the week, avoid video games and be productive.

On game day, close 4chan and start trying out different games until you find one that you enjoy. Then play it as long as you can. Try to beat it before the day is up. The next day, if you have an insatiable urge to keep playing, go ahead and break your "one day a week" rule. If not, wait until next week and resume where you left off.

Treat gaming as an opportunity to do something different rather than a chore. Reframing it this way and making it part of my weekly routine has helped me start enjoying video games again after years of feeling burnt out.
