Of course you wouldn't understand Days, that was the 4th game in the series I believe? Just played 1.5 a nd 2.4, and then 2.8 since it has 3d and the extra episode with Aqua. There you're done.

If you're really serious about getting hardcore into Kingdom Hearts, you should play the originals, not the HD remakes, as they are missing some stuff and have some bugs and shit.

Just go to Wikipedia or something, look up a release order list of Kingdom Hearts games and play all of them in that order. If a game has a "Final Mix" release on the same console, play that instead. You can emulate most of them on a toaster if you like, exception being the new 2.8 on PS4.

They introduced a bunch of new bugs when they patched those ones. For example, the sniper nobody teleport reaction command no longer works, and anything with a magnet effect is broken, such as the spell by that name and one of the master form finishers.

As for what's missing I am referring to the games that were reduced to just a collection of cutscenes, and not even all the cutscenes.

Yes. Very much so, for the first 2 hours you're doing pretty much the exact same thing over and over and over. And not in a "wow combat is monotonous" way. I mean literally go to point A, collect B, end day, watch cutscene. Go to point A, collect B, end day, watch cutscene. Oftentimes in literally the same places.

Days may have the worst combat of the KH games, but it's still not outright bad, and all the story content that was cut from the movie version makes it worth it if you ask me.

The one thing that really bothered me with the movie version was removing a big part of the climax of the story. In the game, when Roxas decides to leave the Organization, you have to fight your way out of the castle, culminating in a boss fight against Saix, who for all intents and purposes is the main antagonist of the game. In the movie version, it's presented as if Roxas just walked out completely unopposed while sulking, which completely deflates the hype, and Saix doesn't get his comeuppance for being an asshole to Roxas and Xion throughout the story.
