So /v/ I just got a new 4tb Drive I want to stuff full of steam games
What games should I get?
>>384676671
Get more hard drives first
...You're going to play games off an external drive?
Get emulators, and multiports there aren't any decent exclusives.
>>384677487
>>384677672
Of course why the fuck not?
USB3 is faster than shitty sata anyways
>>384677487
Those names got me, they got me good
>>384677487
Good one
>>384677487
what's the size of your tower
>>384678457
Dark Base pro 900, I have another 5TB drive but they don't got enough cages for more than 7
>>384677938
>External USB3 faster that internal SATA
Get these niggers off my board right now.
>>384678618
which GPU is that? I'm afraid i won't be able to stick my monstrously big 1070 in it
>>384678953
It's a R9 Fury. You can fit it in there plus you can move the hard drive cages out the way
>>384678701
Fuck you they are both 5gbs a sec
There is no performance hit as far as connection goes and it matters on the quality of the drive
>>384679086
cheers, man - i'll consider the option
>>384679137
NP, anon-kun. Glad I could help

Storage thread?
You didn't seriously buy the one in the picture did you OP?
Enjoy your 16 MB cache.
>>384678953
An alternative would be the fractal design arc midi r2.
8 hard drive bays, 2 SSD mounts in the rear, and enough GPU room for the same card from Gainward.
>>384682491
I wonder if i could get away with less fancy, but also cheaper variantgs, since i don't care that much about dedicated containers for each drive or translucent walls etc and it will be just hidden under the table.
Say, ExeGate AA-323
>>384682987
Holy shit that looks old. Word of advice, if you do get that, throw away the power supply immediatly, it's trash.
That said: If you just need a PC with lots of hard drive bays, yeah, it's fine.
If you want a high-power PC, keep in mind that from what I'm seeing, this case supports ONE fan. That's not exactly a lot. It also means that if those HDDs are high-performance HDDs, they won't get any cooling, and will consequently get into the "a bit past comfortable for a hard drive" area in terms of heat.
Of course, there's a "not particulary" fancy region inbetween. Check pcpartpicker.
>>384683501
i'll definitely pick up the one w/o psu (if there's something you want to not cheapskate on it's definitely psu)
Already have a mATX w/ 1070, 1 3,5HDD and two laptop HDDs, just glued to the floor, and it's a little bit cramped - just want to have more free space for hard drive is all.
Thanks for reminding - need at least two cooling fans (i currently have the one 120mm that pumps in the air on side and the other, 80mm taking the air out from the back)

>(i currently have the one 120mm that pumps in the air on side and the other, 80mm taking the air out from the back)
it does the job is what i was trying to say
>>384683990
>80mm
Why do you do this to yourself
Anyways, hit pcpartpicker, put in your parts, check the cases that are an option, pick a cheap one. Maybe hit that HDD slider a bit if you want more bays for future expansion.
>>384684393
>Why do you do this to yourself
it's the one that came along with the case - i don't see a problem, if nothing is overheating.
Got a bit of a problem of partpicker not recognising my PSU (SuperPower Qori 500W), but should be enough of info for it to choose the proper case now... i hope

PSUs are standard, even really shitty ones like yours.
>>384685845
hey, it worked through 2 builds already for +5 years
>>384685973
340W 12V max, abysmal efficiency guaranteed, can't see any pci-e connectors (what's up with that? Does it even have any 6+2? Because if no, forget that GPU), thin-gauge wiring, no active PFC, no 8-pin CPU, ATX 2.03 (it's not like we're on 2.4 or anything since 2013). But hey, you do you.
Say, how heavy is it? Would you consider it a brick, or something rejected for paperweight duty?
>>384686232
fuck off, it already works, moron
>>384686307
If there's anyone who has magic smoke coming, it's you.
>majority of hard drives I've bought in the last 6 years have failed
why are hard drives such shit?
>>384686443
>never had a hard drive fail in >20 years of using computers
why are hard drives so great?

>>384686601
If you're done attacking the poster over the substance, could you answer the one question at least?
How heavy is it? Very light or very heavy?
>>384686232
Wow get a load of this dork. Get laid much?
>>384686651
definitely lighter than your brain tumor, causing you to act in such a vile, passive-aggressive way.
>>384686667
Hey do not bully unless your gonna bully my dick
>>384686667
Don't you have a facebook account to tend to
>>384686745
Well, if it's practically floating away, that means no PFC whatsoever.
It's a liability. But sure, throw expensive hardware at it. No way this can go wrong.
>>384686847
if you could only stop for a second and hear other people's facts instead of insulting them, you wouldn't be considered such a fucking piece of shit of excuse for human being.
It works just fine for over a year with specified hardware and has been working for 4 years with previous setup.
I'm gonna stop talking to you, as you're clearly not only rude, ignoring multiple requests to fuck off, but probably also an illiterate retard, who just can't read.
Have a nice day, however petty and empty it will actually be for you.
>>384687138
Think of me the day it fails.
>2.5" external hdd
Why no 2.5" internal.
>>384687329
I don't really feel like opening up my case and installing it
Plus this way its portable and I can move it around from PC to PC
>>384677487
cringe
>>384676671
download every episode of star trek

My ex did c/d/e/f/g, I just left it that way in memory of her because I'm a sentimental cunt
