Name a better game idea than this:
>player takes on the role of a patriotic hobo who can see the future but no one believes him, so he has to save his interstellar nation from losing a war using nothing but a shitty ship he stole and whatever he finds along the way
>instead of having to do pre-scripted things to save his nation, two or more nations are pitted against each other in a war simulation, then time is rewound and the player is put on the side that is going to lose
>like Dwarf Fortress, distant events are simulated statistically, but are simulated properly when viewed close-up; so millions of units can be involved in the war, yet the player is expected to be the single unit that tips the balance.
The one thing that the player has going for them is that their vision of doom is immensely detailed.
So they can do things like identify a ship that contributed majorly to their nation's defeat, then bomb that ship as it's still being built.
