What they demo'd at E3 was just a sequence though. Obviously, you're not going to crash through a window every time and have to watch a cutscene. It already looks like it has more precision than the previous games, like allowing you to web-pull yourself to perches and allowing you to run around to the other side of a building without automatically falling off and having to course correct again. Hopefully the scripted sequences stay in the missions and don't leak over into free-roam. Also, there's nothing better than Akrham Combat, without going into character action territory. I think it'll be fine, especially considering you have an arsenal of web shit to play around with.

First, if any superhero would be appropriate for character action, it would be Spider-man, Spider-senses are even used as essentially witch-time in the e3 demo. Second, I'd prefer to see them try to do something interesting even if it doesn't turn out as well as Arkham combat. Arkham is overdone and boring, when I see it in a game I automatically assume no effort was put into the actual design, all the money got funneled into presentation.
