>joke character becomes a force to be reckoned with
>final boss theme is a remix of the main theme
>rival eventually joins your party
>Vocals kick in mid fight
>Boss has a special gimmick unique to him (ie: they take away your weapon from you in a Hack'n'slash game but it doesn'0t happen anywhere else in the game)
>Can use joke/taunt inbetween a combo and it chains properly.
>>384565479
>final boss is a 1v1 against your Rival
>he/she has a very similar moveset to your own
>>384565479
>final boss theme is a remix of the main theme
I don't know if I've played this game, which are you thinking of?
Oh wait, forgot the memes
>name three games that do this
>>384565479
>secret/final power/upgrade transforms you into a state you were in in flashbacks earlier in the game/previous game
>final boss theme gets more tense and gets more instruments as you go along
>>384565634
>Can use joke/taunt inbetween a combo and it chains properly.
What game allows for this, because clearly i am missing out
>>384565479
>Boss becomes more erratic/frenzied the more health they lose
>Boss is able to be status effected
>Boss issubjectively correct with their intentions/motivations and it's difficult to find a fault in their argument
Final boss is fightable at any point in the game but is insanely strong until you train/get the correct gear.
>>384565862
Devil May cry has that kinda. Using a joke during a combo "finishes" the combo or something, I don't recall it properly. I mean that it counts like a combo finisher and it doesn't break it, + it gives you some more energy back.
>get your ass wrecked by final boss
>all the character's you've meet in the game start cheering you on
>get back up, stronger than before
>>384565986
>guess im going to have to find a copy of it soon then
>>384566206
i cant even fucking post properly
>>384566206
The technique is even used in some speedruns or no damage S rank runs as it helps keep the demon meter full while attacking.
The fact that taunting is a legit technique for high-level plays in a DMC game is incredibly fitting.
>>384565479
>you have to kill your love interest
>>384565684
God hand is pretty dope man. I wish it was discussed here more often.

I love shit like this
>>384565479
>game has a recurring rival
>after you defeat the final boss, he still wants to fight you and screams something like "It's not over yet!"
>>384565479
>interface is present in the cutscenes and reacts to whatever is done to your character
>you are not the chosen one but manage to do the job anyways.
>it was you who wrecked shit up (and therefore set the plot going) and you discover it the hard way
>the first area is the final area
>your character is shown relaxing/doing routine stuff after the victory during the staff roll
>>384565479

I have literally never seen this happen in a video game.

God Hand has posts about it all of the time here, always in a positive light. What are you talking about?
Boss doesn't have a theme song so he makes one on his mixtape and blasts in the background
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a5K62bt6Sw4
>calm and collected protagonist snaps
>>384567093
No, only achievements. Costumes are for beating higher difficulties

>>384574430
Are you talking about Butters or Kenny? Because Kenny is a useless shit and Butters was never a joke character except story-wise.
>having a party member that can heal either himself or you for 35+% every turn as a free action from level 1
Butters ruined the game in a sense because of how early you get him, and him being the uncontested best companion for combat. So you never really need to switch out, and miss the dialogue for every other party member, which I hear is pretty funny.
>an incredibly intimidating enemy turns out to be a huge wimp
