I enjoy playing games that have deep mechanics. Unfortunately big western studios have the money and the size to make such games, but recently 1 by 1 they are like getting hit by some sort of plague which turns them into she zombies who are willing to drive the studio down the gutter just to appeaze to some sick fucks

Most of the Japanese games are being put on steam. And as a result, are usually 2-5 years behind their console release. And like anything, you have to find the few good ones amongst the wave of bad.

Their job is to make money. Since vidya is now a $100 billion a year industry and literally everyone plays games, the most cost effective way to maximize revenue is taking a safe non-offensive approach that reaches the widest audience possible. I mean, you don't see General Mills making swastika cereal. Generic is usually the best course for major companies. The best you can do is support indie devs and small studios who make niche games.
