Man I really wanted to like that game but the devs really needed to put some more thought into the difficulty curve. Being stuck with only one water bottle and one repair powder for the majority of the first dungeon is not a good way to start the game.

it's probably because I grew up playing it when it came out and I have a lot of nostalgia for it but I wholeheartedly believe it is a fantastic game with great music and setting and gameplay

For some reason, I think Dark Clould should be adapted into a anime series. The way each area plays out is very reminiscent to the kinda arc's you'd see in a shounen and let me tell you, a dark cloud Shounen would be guaranteed, anime of the season.

That said, does anyone have an area as their favourite? I'll always remember vividly Queens and even more so, remember Shipwreck and the Boss battle against the Queen herself. Her Tranformation and then the ending to the fight still haunt me to this day for how beautiful, disturbing, tragic and heartfelt hers and Rando's story came to a close.

Honestly, there isn't a bad moment in this game. Like ever. the bosses were epic, the dungeons imposed a real sense of danger and mystery to them, the enemies are truly the stuff of nightmares, your allies grow so much from when you first met them, you, the simple Toan continue to grow stronger and stronger alongside them and essentially act as both a benevolent god and a simple, hopeful boy hero just trying to right the wrongs of those who would wish wicked things upon the world.
