That day I was playing Mario on my chinese Famicom, I didn't give a shit.

I don't miss gamer culture but I miss the games. Games used to focus on mechanics, physics, and simplicity of design.

Today's games are designed to be presented as complicated and with lots of mechanics but are actually ridiculously shallow to the point where you master the mechanics in seconds.

They have switched from a focus on gameplay towards presentation. There are still some gems coming out here and there tho.

I still enjoy Call of Duty games. I think Infinite Warfare is the best non-Treyarch game since Call of Duty 4.

I really enjoy the campaigns for the braindead fun they provide. The more insane the better. Black Ops 3 is obviously my overall favorite.

I don't take them seriously and the multiplayer is outright predatory these days but once every year I go down to the video game rental store and throw down $5 for a ticket to the yearly "COD Coaster" and I always have a good time.
