I've seen Erika being played for a few good hours. She looks fantastic and reminds me of Hyde/Seth in a way with her swipes and her knockdown kicks. There might be more going on with her character than just some murderous bitch but she mostly seems to kept under close watch from Adelheit and she doesn't seem to have the highest opinion of her in return. She considers herself just as a weapon.

But she wasn't all that hesitant in saying that she killed Gordeau's friend righteously and said that his parents would be happy that did.

Am I the only guy that wished they didn't bother making a story mode? It was almost charming how unib/uniel arcade modes gave off the same feeling of confusion that melty blood did but without an established franchise for the characters to refer too. Stuff like hyde apologizing to yuzu about something that happened that you're never actually told about.

Making time with a story mode just feels like it's time that could've been spent on making the actual game better

Tutorial is really good. Probably not quite Revelator's level, but definitely close. And while it's not much, each character's mission mode has a mini tutorial which gives you a quick rundown on the moves you want to use, some basic mixups, etc. It's amazing how BB and now GG have basically become the standard that everyone tries to emulate with this stuff.

Yeah, amazingly awesome. Raising the standard there a lot has been something the genre needed for a good long time. Truly getting great obviously will always take a lot of dedication, but there's no reason for there not to be as good an on-ramp as possible even for completely fresh blood, and for vets of the genre it can be a solid way to get a feel for a new roster fast. Hopefully other games not just emulate but improve farther, and that keeps arcsys on their toes too.

A lot of her specials puts her behind her opponent. Pretty good for cross ups.
Always try to keep a buff up. Go for a short combo into a hard knockdown and buff if you have to.
