Nobody wants a linear FPS today. If Half Life 3 was released it would have to be open world or flop.

Valve won't release it because it will never live up to the hype. Should've just released it in the early 2010's or late 00's.

As long as they're vulnerable to Windows 10 S cutting them off it doesn't make sense to invest in games and they're putting everything towards making Linux a viable platform for gaming.

Valve said they would begin work in earnest when use of GNU/Linux on Steam hit 3%.
If you want it, switch to GNU/Linux and be part of the solution.
