So here's my latest crackpot theory.

Atari earlier had mentioned they they planned on crowdfunding the device. But lately they have removed mention of this and instead said that they had teamed up with another company. Also earlier there was speculation about a Google team up because Google was listed as the owner of their website. Which since has been removed. Then people said that the Ataribox would probably just be some android or rasp pi device. I wondered how much it would be for a device like that and what the specs would be. So I went to Rasp Pi's site and looked up the specs. Currently they're on version 3b, which came out in 2016. The creator of the Rasp Pi 3 said that there won't be another version for at least 3 years, 2019. Then I started looking into what the next board would be and found this article.
