Don't get tricked, Xrd isn't actually on sale. You need the Rev2 update to play the latest version, and it won't include all the DLC characters. So despite the sale, Revelator + Rev2 + DLC characters still cost more than than the bundle that includes them all, which isn't on sale.

I play both (admittedly more of GG). Both are good but there are some key differences.
>Guilty Gear
>40% KoF, 60% it's own stuff
>fast paced, offense heavy, rushdown based
>plenty of defensive mechanics all tied to meter management
>meter management is important, a few characters have gimmicks but nothing too far from the standard meter
>air to air combat is more commonplace
>combos are not rigid and start to lose damage with combo scaling quickly, freestyle combos are both possible and a must
>neutral and okizemi is more important than footsies or combo links
>other than a few exceptions to the rule, like Jack O vs Axl, GG is not matchup dependent, all tiers are close enough to each other to the point where everyone is viable if you put in the time
>visually a mix of quasi-gothic, hard rock metalpunk themed 90s anime with a plot to match
While Blazblue has
>still offense heavy, but at a slower pace
>combo heavy, damage scaledowns aren't as fast so long combos are rewarded if you like that
