No, Nintendo is not running out of components or consoles RIGHT NOW, what they miss are components to produce more consoles for the next months.
They have already secured enough stock (at least in theory) for the Holiday season, seeing as SMO comes out around that time.

Spla2n added a legit co-op mode, which is enough of a change to the fundamental formula that I feel as if the sequel is worth it, despite there not being too much changes to the overall multiplayer experience yet, but seeing as the original had multiple large updates that introduced completely new weapon types, I'm not too worried.

like holy shit the graphical leap is astronomical between the games, 2 has 100% more color, there's dynamic lighting in the WHOLE map that affects character models, there's more ink physics on drip textures, hell there's about twice as much particle effects tied to splatting surfaces, what the fuck how can no one notice it when pitching them togheter? literally do a comparison 1:1 and the way you ink terrain in the first game feels like you are just popping paintball textures on the floor, in 2 it feels like actual fucking fluid

I never player the first game, but I enjoyed the splatfest despite being frustrated by players who clearly didn't understand the rules.

There's Splatzones, which is king of the hill, Tower Control which is sorta like Siege modes in other games, and Rainmaker which is like CTF but you move slowly and the flag is a rocket launcher

So Splatoon 2 has three modes
Casual, where the main gamemode is Turf Wars like you played during the Splatfest.
Then there's Ranked mode, where it's objective based. There are several different modes from the first game (I don't know which ones are returning in the second however).
>Tower Control
Your basic payload type. Except it's not attack/defense, it's one tower that moves two ways. Whoever pushes the tower farthest by the end of the time limit wins. Pushing it to the end results in a knockout, granting instant victory.
>Splat Zones
A 2 CP style gamemode where you ink control points to take control of them. My personal favorite, as all weapons types are extremely viable on it.
>Rainmaker
It's like Tower Control, but instead of a payload you carry a giant tornado making bazooka to the other team's base.
