Honestly, if you don't have any level scaling mods installed, you should get to about level 20 before you go do sidequests. Some are locked to that level and the rewards scale with your level too.

You can get your sneak to 100 in the starting cell by running against the wall while sneaking. Just find something to push down on the analog stick, as this will take a few hours.

You should always save right before removing sigil stones and closing oblivion gates, because you can reload the save and get a stone with different stats if you don't like the one you get initially.

There's a duplication trick that involves two sets of scrolls, but google that one because I forgot exactly how it works
