I'm a paladin and so fucking happy.
We were expecting cast timer nerfs on holy spirit which would have reduced our damage by a fuck ton but naw just a potency nerf so happy as shit. Like insanely happy about this nerf compared to what we were expected to get.


Additionally I'm in a HC PROG raid group and we have no duplicates so we are fine. I'm amused though by the fact you can have 0 duplicates in savage groups now so all good all around.

I can get DPS disparity, but then you have the ridiculous utility disparity. Machinist has Dismantle and Hypercharge. Both of which are very clear and very worse than Bard's analogues. Then Bard just gets more that have no analogue on Machinist. With Barrel Stabilizer at fucking 60 seconds this isnt much of an issue unless you're a shitter who cant manage heat now with the increased number of actions you can pull during your heated shots before needing to use Cooldown.

Definetly do the Hall of the Novice. I think it's unlocked at level 15 and it gives you a set of armor aswell as a ring that boots XP by 30% when below 50. Also would recommend registering someone's referral code since you get some cool stuff (i already have all referral bonuses so i won't bother posting mine). But as i'm sure most people in this thread would tell you the best way to play XIV is to just take it easy and try doing whatever you feel like doing at the moment, be it crafting or maybe even leveling another class. It's a very casualy-paced game. As for what class to play, just pick the one you think looks coolest. You can always change later.

Alright, I guess. The disappointment of no new healers and tanks combined with all the horribly imba shit they allowed to persist until now is going to taint my experience. but at least they're trying. They spent a lot of dev resources balancing tanks and healers but it doesn't feel like they have a lot to show for it yet beyond defining their niches within the jobs. Though I still don't know what DRK is supposed to be other than the tank you take along because you already have a PLD and the other guy doesn't play WAR.
