What are some easy/simple 3D games to introduce someone to basic gaming mechanics?
What games would ease them into the basics of controlling a character in a 3D world and dealing with common video game obstacles so they can eventually move on to more complex games?
I have a friend who would definitely enjoy the Legend of Zelda series, but they haven't played a video game in decades and know basically nothing about modern vidya.
Maximo.

Maybe Spyro? It seemed pretty simple as a kid when i played on ps1.

Think the openess of Mario 64 might be overwhelming for someone new to vidya

Hm, maybe that could work. Thought about Crash too, my friend mentioned having played Crash back when they were young.
Rayman 2

I don't see how starting out with any 3D Legend of Zelda would be a problem for someone with no experience. The actual movement in those games is fairly simple, battles use a lock-on mechanic, and there are no tough platforming sections. It's actually much easier on beginners than something like Mario.
Mario galaxy or mario 3d world
