The illusion that Inafune is a master "game creator" could be maintained as long as he was with Capcom and had teams of highly talented people working under him. If the games did well, he took all the credit since he was the one doing all the interviews. He was the only person the public knew, so he must have done everything. Inafune's habit of never naming anyone else's contributions helped this. He developed a mystique.

Working solo, he still acted like he was at Capcom, and was gonna unleash a new series that would take over the world, when he didn't have the manpower and resources for it. And we got to see that Inafune is nothing special, and the "Inafune Brand" means nothing in terms of quality. He ran that company into the ground in record time.
