I like concept of Laser Gatling (Gatling Laser) in F4. However, it feels like garbage, mostly because it lack customisation like other laser weapons.

And also because GL makes a nice platform for tesla/plasma canons, which are absent from the game, even though they should not be.

Melee and Unarmed in F4 are a total garbage. Atleast in 3/NV they are viable, and in NV they are some of the most overpowered shit players an get their hands on. But in 4? Garbage, that manages to be worse than Skyrim's - atleast there there was dualwielding, shields, block with shield and weapon. In F4? Nah.

Fallout 4 is the epitome of wasted potential.

actually the thing does an absolute insane amount of damage with crits because each crank counts as an extra crit or sneak attack. It can do the highest 1 shot amount of damage in the game.

All of the weapons in F4 look so terrible.
Skyrim had the same problem with oversized retarded looking foam paddle weapons that came straight from WoW. F3's weapons looked more like 20th century prototype guns, and had a very nice aesthetic. I'm not a fan of iron man mech power armor either.

Well, i think they did pretty good on Laser/Plasma weapons and customisations to them, I like their take on power armor (but not some of the things related to it - like fusion core drain, horrible unarmed attacks, limited jetpack capability), combat armor (looks good - terrible customisation however). And there are some other nifty things too, but all of that is drowned in cesspit of its faults.
One of them is the Assault Rifle - that is nothing like an assault rifle, and while it has some customisation, its terrible. Good thing is that they did not make it left-handed.

It was all about squad-based combat. IIRC you could have 6 squad members, each outfitted for a specific role. Snipers were invaluable. Drivers too when you get a tank/APC/humvee.

Apparently, F4's gauss rifle is some crazy shit in terms of gameplay:

With 5 ranks in the Rifleman perk, the Gauss rifle becomes capable of destroying almost any power armor pieces except torso pieces with one shot. It is also able to destroy a fusion core in one shot, but its extremely high damage may instantly kill the enemy, preventing them from exiting their power armor.

Its raw damage output per shot is outclassed only by the 6-crank laser musket and the Fat Man and its variants during general combat. However when stealth combat is involved, and a silencer is equipped; with the Mister Sandman perk 50% more sneak critical damage is dealt. A fully upgraded Gauss rifle along with a fully upgraded Ninja perk will boost the sneak critical to 5.25x the base damage (6.3x with Deacon's Cloak and Dagger perk). One can combine that with Rifleman 5 and can do approximately 2000+ ballistic damage. (As of patch 1.4 the maximum multiplier is 4.8) One of the highest amounts of single shot damage. During a field test with the 6-crank laser musket at its highest, the laser musket does not do as much damage as a fully upgraded and perk supported Gauss rifle.

The Two-shot legendary variant of the Gauss rifle is arguably the most powerful rifle in the game. With the right perks and the right circumstances this weapon can kill even the strongest enemies in a single shot.

The projectile fired is wider than other ballistic bullets, and will not be able to pass through some railings and other small spaces.

This weapon's behavior in relation to the Penetrator perk is inconsistent at best: Gauss rifle shots are often capable of penetrating their target and hitting others behind the first one, occasionally killing three or more enemies with one shot. Currently it is unclear if this is a trait inherent to the weapon or owed to the Penetrator perk.
