I think they only get as big as they are right when they hatch (could be wrong). If you release them though, they grow to their adult size the very next time you come back to where they are afterwards.

From the creatures I've hatched it seems like Crabsnakes are one of the biggest ones in the containment tanks, even compared to things that are much bigger in the world like Crabsquid.

built a second tank.

I was going to take a screenshot of one of my tanks for this thread, but on my way there I fell through my base, found out there's a second Reaper I didn't know about patrolling close by and couldn't get back up because there was no walkable path home.

Fish reproduce if you have more than one, until the limit is reached. If you have one tank, it's ten, two stacked and it's twenty and so on.

You can, but they'll turn hostile after you encounter them again later. If you do it too close to your base they might also try to get back in the tank and damage your base.

Not trying to derail or shit talk Subnautica but I really wish it had Stranded Deep's water and weather. Stranded Deep has waves affected by weather. Sometimes its nice and calm and other times.. It's hard to tell how big this wave is but yeah, it's big.

Deep Grand Reef is easiest, just have a base or vehicle right near a entrance and take a Seaglide down and search the seafloor. Northern Blood Kelp Zone has them too, but it's a lot less easy to search.

It's limited to that size, though I don't think there's a limit to how far you can stack them on top of each other. Really makes me wish we had more sizes/shapes for multipurpose rooms though, a big ass oval shaped room two or three times the length of a normal room would be great.

Just the singular width, although you can stack them as high as you like by building upwards. As long as you don't go too high and break your game with hundreds of fish.

More basebits for personalized kitbashing is a pretty common request from people so it'd be nice if the devs did add more stuff to build. That said you can place 10 creatures per tank and stacking tanks increase that number by 10 everytime, so you can place quite a bit. Although flora is limited to just the bottom tank for obvious reasons. I find that 10 per tank gets a little crowded as is, so I tend to stay below that number.

Yeah, 10 sounds pretty reasonable. My main goal is to showcase some of the unique residents of each zone, though I imagine getting at some of their eggs will be a bit of a trial. Hopefully worth it, though.

Some things don't have eggs implemented yet and others are small enough to just grab and place in there manually. Other than that it sounds a lot like my biome specific tanks so I wish you the best of luck with that. Best advice for trying to get them would be to learn the areas first by exploring them, it'll help immensely with your searches.
