Nah, Pursuer is easy as fuck. It's just that the first time you have no clue how his pattern is so that first time it just feels frustratingly hard. The rest of the game has some moments like this, but none really hit you like The Pursuer. DS2 is a weird game.

>great package with loads of content
>lots of padding and doesn't feel like a Souls game until DLC

>steepest learning curve, feels and plays like older games and King's Field
>arbitrary stiffness to combat, feels and looks like a PS2 game half the time

>loads of good ideas
>batshit insane ideas overshadow good ones

The stupidest thing about adaptability and soul memory is how pointless they make each other.

Adaptability tried to be an alternative to light-medium-heavy rolls. It's not a bad idea being restricted by soul level and choosing how good you want your roll to be. That idea gets shat on with soul memory, and the game gives you a shit load more souls compared to the others. It's borderline trainwreck.

They should've just took their time, consolidated everything, and just made DS2 and 3 one game.

It masks the fact that there's an autistic user base who thinks these games need to have a PvP meta, painfully unaware that these games will never ever be balanced for such things.
In reality, SM increased player connectability regardless of playatyle and build, while keeping low level players away from twinks.

I only play these games for the PvE and honestly thought DaS2 was pretty amazing besides some of the shitty boss fights. But whenever I bring up liking this game the response is always SOUL MEMORY LOL.

Despite this, it seems to have a very active PvP scene still.

Picking between poise and rolling is a great idea and allows class variation. Much better than 3 making it Roll Souls and removing Poise
