Upon release FU used dated hardware: a handheld console. Consensus classics are 99% of the time using the latest consoles/pc equivalent hardware. That's why the PS1 and PS2 have many all-time classics yet the PSP so few. Devs and players in general don't take handhelds as seriously.

I would say most bosses in SoulsBorne offer a much more intense, immersive experience than ANY MH boss. I find the production values, aesthetics, and skill ceiling are severely lower in MH.

I don't think it's anywhere near the worse-looking of the series, and OP's criteria included comfiness which includes that. In fact aesthetics (including graphics) are an important, underrated aspect of a game's potential quality/immersion.

Also, in general, I don't think there is that much fluctuation in quality among the Souls series for your remark to be at all relevant here.
