Besides technical issues, like poor marketing and shitty servers, what made this game fail so bad?

Bullet sponges, should have lower ttk and player health
Grind
Also MMO is a dead genre

This guy gets it.
>Bullet sponge enemies
>Way too much RNG on RNG to get good equipment
>PvP imbalances
>Should have focused more on a dynamic PvE experience with random events
>They added bonus factors on the game world way too late
>Limited inventory and stash space for a game all about gathering loot
>The legendary modes are just retarded slogs
Yeah it's very strange that systems like this make it through playtesting, once every enemy has shield bars it becomes an absolute chore to play, which is a damn shame because the aesthetics and gamefeel are damn good tier.

>literally no point in collecting greens
>blues only use is either to hold you out untill you start scoring purps in DZ or scrap
>vendors stupidly expensive
>slow as fuck to earn regular credits to spend at said vendors
>crafting weapons is not viable
>modifying weapons are expensive as hell (see above credit complaint)
>modding gear is worthless compared to farming a new one

Very, very bad difficulty scaling for endgame activities. They fixed it eventually but it took them a very long time, then when they introduced a new tier of endgame activity it was just as broken as before.
It's a shame, I think that the core gameplay can be very good with but it needed more fun synergy between skills, more QA in general and more content after launch instead of inconsequential side games and higher difficulties for existing missions.
>Fight enemy on anything beyond level 30 on normal
>Fire 100 rounds into each enemy's head like its fucking borderlands
