I don't think there were any English character bios published for the versions outside Japan though. Not even for the console ports. So the fact that Poison and Roxy were supposed to be trannied wasn't even made clear until people started importing books and other materials from Japan.

abigail really doesn't have much of a personality anyway, even they joke about it in the gba version of final fight how he's such a 1-dimensional character in both personality and fighting

also, despite how people say roxy is just a clone of poison (with less health usually) is because poison was selected to accompany hugo in street fighter 3 (1997), and that's actually how she became more popular (and subsequently final fight revenge in 1999)

Cody, Guy and Rolento were first playable in the Alpha games. Hugo was first playable in SFIII. Poison was first playable from SFxT, which her model and moveset was copied from and pasted into USFIV a year or so later.
