The only reason DotA has a prize pool thats even close to a popular game is because Valve didnt give a shit about the game, put the bare minimum 1 million into the first Internationals prize pool and made the people playing pay for the rest of it. Even Halo 5 had a bigger initial prize pool and it made sense for 343 to shove the rest to players because Halo 5 has a tiny population.

Nobody gives a fuck about your shitty game, thats why its queue times in non third world countries are above 10 minutes.
