I'll pass on Japan's continuing attempt to make every single game play exactly the same and use the exact same marketing tactics and monetization methods. Good lord does early 2017 and what looked like a resurgence feel like a decade ago at least. The whole years felt like that though.

You can powerlevel on stage/chapter 2-1 by increasing difficulty with the cheat shop. Level 99 enemies give EXP as if they were level 300 as a carryover joke from early games. Tower attacks give EXP to everyone in the tower and can quickly get moves like tower laser which are great. Christo gives a 100% hit chance to units he stands next to so you won't miss the attack. Red Magnus is a great unit through the entire game along with Bunny Girl for monster weapon.

I managed to get through the entire pre-End game story without grinding a single time. Remember to set sub classes on all the characters you use frequently, it'll help you a lot.
