No, buy it for upcoming releases too. Online is free until sometime in 2018, and mariokart deluxe is good if you didn't play it much or didn't own it on Wii u. Snipperclips, GoNNER, and Shovel knight are all good for about the price of a full retail game together. Good luck finding one by the way.

You shouldn't get it for just splatoon, although it is a good game. Arms is fun. Fire Emblem heroes looks good. Probably gonna be an animal crossing. Eventually gonna get some form of smash. And Mario odyssey is gonna be great. Oh and metroid prime 4. Oh and the yoshi game and the Pokémon games. So a lot of fun stuff is coming, but it'll probably be a while. But no single game is worth the purchase of a console.

There's a decent amount of Nintendo games coming to it. It really depends on if you like Nintendo games. Regardless I would wait until black Friday or until Nintendo can fix their supply. Or even then, wait until there's enough games on it, or coming soon for it that you want. Personally, I got my switch once I saw that there was at least like 8 games I really wanted for it.

And no they don't start charging for online until sometime next year.
