i have a bit of a problem and im just looking for maybe something im missing.
so i've got a bit of a dated system (built it all new in 2012) and my buddy gave me his msi r7 370 4g to replace my gtx 560ti. the card confirmed is working in his system but i get no video output when it's installed in my computer and the vga light by the pci port turns on and stays on. i've tried everything from using a different pcie port to resetting cmos.
anyone know what the issue could be?
rest of system specs:
mobo: asus sabertooth p67 b3
cpu: i5 2500k
ram: 16gb corsair vengeance blue
psu: corsair tx 750
Do the fans spin up when you turn the pc on?

Yeah everything works as normal except for that red gva light and absolutely no video signal from the card
>>384027791
you put the dong in the wrong HDMI por
>>384027791
Surely you haven't forgotten to plug this fucker in, right?
>>384028234
Nope I've even tried multiple different connectors.
>>384028207
Can you get into the bios?
>>384028369
No video out, can't get to bios if I can't see it. Mobo doesn't have dedicated graphics.

Isn't Sandy bridge supposed to have a igpu?
plug in hdmi or whatever video feed into your motherboard, go into bios, disable cpu igpu, then turn off pc and plug in hdmi or your video into your gpu.
And your old card still works? If yes, the card is probably toast.
Maybe test it on another mainboard to make sure.

Mobo has no video outputs because it doesn't have integrated graphics

Old card works, new card works on friends PC but not mine.

>r7 370 4g
>>384029768
Did he just say that or did you see it
>>384029768
it's not pushed in all the way in the pci express lane is my guess
I remember I had to set something in my bios to " legacy " or something when I upgraded my 560ti a long time ago

>friend gives you an electronic that could be resold somewhat easily
"It still works."
ayyy lmao
>>384027791
Entirely unplug your computer with the R7 370 in it, find the clear CMOS jumper, hold a screwdriver against both pins at the same time for about 30s, plug it back in.
You might have to reset your boot drive and redo your overclock but thats all. Maybe the system clock as well.

I was at his house when we took his rig apart. He got a 1080ti, I paid him $50 for the 370.
>>384032582
fifty dollars for a used piece of shit, what are you doing
>>384032703
I could care less about $50. I make plenty of money. I just don't have the need to buy brand new parts. I don't play games much anymore.
>>384027791
It is possible that you might have to update your BIOS to be compatible with newer GPUs

Shakey scenario to be in
If the setup works with with the original can then it everything seems to point to the new one being faulty in some capacity.
Can't really do much more beyond flashing your bios.

this. try updating your BIOS OP. one time I ordered some RAM and my PC refuse to boot up with it inside it until I updated the BIOS.
