Can you guys tell me a good resource for learning how to play Starcraft 2?
I played Starcraft 1 for like a decade off and on but I never got any better so clearly "play more" isn't the solution.
Is it too late to get started anyway? The game has been out for a number of years. Is there another RTS game better suited for not necessarily a newcomer but for somebody who is complete shit?
DESU Pikmin is the best "I suck" rts imo but if you want to legitimately get good at an rts you have to learn to micromanage so decide what race you want to play (terran or zerg or protoss) then look up videos on YouTube

Yeah probably. Even the pros went back to broodwar.

SC2 has automated matchmaking so even if you're utter shit, you'll still be matched against players of approximately equal shittiness. The matchmaking system gets better at judging your skill level the more ranked/unranked multiplayer games you play. (but not training or versus AI)
There are also co-op missions if you prefer to learn2play in a more friendly environment. But nothing really compares to competitive multiplayer if you want to get better at RTS.
I like SC2 because a bunch of my favorite game developers worked on it, including people from Westwood who designed Red Alert 2, C&C Generals, and other games which are no longer supported.
Unlike many RTS these days, SC2 still has an active balance team and receives regular updates to co-op missions as well. There are micro-transactions, but you can safely ignore all of them.

"Don't."
Alternatively: play protoss.

What's a good race to start with?
Also are the 3 games 3 separate games? I heard something about each one having a different unit cap and running at a different speed or whatever.

Everyone plays Legacy of the Void, which is the last of the three to be released and the only one that is actively supported by Blizzard.

Ok. I guess I'll jump in.

I've always liked the Protoss so I'll start with that.
