Bloodborne is in my top 10 of all time, but Nioh's definitely got the better combat system. A shame Nioh got overlooked and faded into obscurity before it even released. There were more threads for the beta and alpha than the final game.

But ultimately OP yes, I found Bloodborne to really be that great. If you don't like Souls though it won't grab you, more than likely. I was big on Souls and when I first bought Bloodborne I couldn't get myself to play it. Eventually it took and here I am now with 400 hours on my save file. The idea of it getting a 60fps boost when they announced the PS4 Pro made me tempted to buy it purely for an upgraded Bloodborne.

It's pretty shit as far as souls games go. I played the 3 dark souls games and bloodborne was worse than all 3 of them.

I've played maybe 30 minutes of Dark Souls 2 at a friends house about a year or two ago, and I only just recently played Bloodborne. I went into both with no expectations or opinions on my end. It's okay, but the experience was ruined because I used a shitty controller that had input problems, which made it harder than it should have been. There's also the fact that I was streaming it for a friend whose a Bloodborne fanatic and she kept back seat gaming.

I'll probably continue/create a new character after I'm done with Fallout 4.

Agree with you wholeheartedly OP, I was so sorely disappointed with this.

Ignoring the fact that it's so inherently easy:

2 CORE GAME MECHANICS
> summon 2 people to do anything remotely difficult
> run past 99.9999% of enemies without being touched if you so desire

....but the gameplay is so tedious and repetitive. The combat is just stereotypical hack n slash bullshit that is on par with games created nearly 20 years ago, and it's incredibly linear, painfully linear in fact.

I went in blind and platinumed it in 10 days, never having played a Souls game before.

Why these people think it's some kind of intellectually superior game, or a hardcore challenging title, is beyond me.....must be a millennials thing.

Lol, it's shit in 60fps. KH 1.5 FM was wonky in 60fps but worked for the most part. KH2FM is a fucking travesty, which is really sad but too much shit is tied to framerate that breaks at 60fps.

Yes I do, I got the Excalibur 2 in FF9, on PAL, no turbo controller, no FMV skip, no PS2 double disc speed - that as a challenge absolutely shits all over the entire Souls series. That was a challenge that required significant mental strength, patience and ability to achieve.

I was also in the number 1 squad in ghost recon future solider on ps3, out of 120000 squads worldwide. I was arguably the best player in the game at one time - something that I was told as opposed to self-appointing.
