But HL was using the Quake engine which in turn was inspired by Doom.
Those were Doom cheats.

Also you grew up playing Quake 3 and thought it invented Deathmatch, but it was Doom that invented it and all the power ups.
It was Doom who invented the silent protagonist you love from Half Life.
It was Doom who pioneered all your childhood games like Duke 3D, Hexen, Heretic, UT, Half Life, Halo, American McGee's Alice, Clive Barker's Undying, Rune and even Thief and DotA.

Nope. I played Wolf3D before anything else and probably did play HL before Doom, but I learned all those cheats from countless hours of map making autism in Doom. Don't need anything besides IDDQD, IDKFA, and IDCLIP (unless you need IDDT for automap shit like secret hunting, or IDBEHOLD for berserk specifically).
Otherwise, yeah, fuck yeah Doom for pioneering so many things in the FPS genre, out-selling Win95, and kick-starting an entire genre to begin with. Classic FPS games were called Doom clones for a reason back in the day.

Which isn't even the right command anyway, 'give all' in Quake is impulse 9, the first number after the impulse commands for weapon selection.
