Depends on your playstyle. You align with a different faction each run, the good side (Fairies, Elves, Angels) are more geared towards active playstyle with manual clicks and spellcasts while the evil side (Goblin, Undead, Demons) are better at idle gameplay. There are a bunch more unlockable factions and once you reincarnate enough you'll unlock the mercenary faction where you can make your own builds using upgrades and traits from whatever faction you choose, so that's kind of neat. It's also what I'm doing right now.

You don't really 'play' idle games as much as you keep them around to fiddle with when you're bored. It's not so much of a normal game as it is a momentary distraction with progression.
