JAW were sacked for that actually, and this is another dev team.
To be honest they were far too fucking slow anyway, the game itself was good, just overpriced and way over delayed. Getting Stranger/Munch ported is good enough since a lot of people wouldn't have had a fatbox.

I played exoddus 15 years ago I don't give a shit about remakes and its going to suck compared to the original anyway because they can't fucking figure out that pre-rendered backgrounds with higher resolution will always beat real time graphics for cinematic platformers, even Ori devs realized it

I want to love the Oddworld games but the PC ports are complete trash. Munch's Odysee and Stranger's Wrath are really the only playable games to boot.

I'd enjoy this franchise a lot more if I didn't have to perfect run each game just to get the good/decent ending. Also I doubt they'll deliver on the dark and horror aspects of this new remake.

This. It doesn't even really take much skill because it's just memorizing puzzles but they still managed to forced you to go back and complete every single secret room to actually get the good endings. You can't die at all, even though the protag gets killed in one shot. It's just memorizing the level then going back and trying to do it in one run. Not really fun by any means.

Unlike the originals with their shit controls that forced you to lose for no other reason than poor controls, the remake was actually top tier. Excellent visuals, excellent audio, and they made shit gameplay great.

Do people really hate New and Tasty?

I thought it was pretty decent. I do agree that it take some challenges away from the original as well as some designs but I don't think it's a terrible restart especially for the new gen.

I've played Oddyssey and Exoddus pc versions twice and they worked fine on my toaster.
Also, last I heard, Munch was unplayable and the devs were going to replace the pc version with the mobile one.

If EA decides to return the rights back to original devs. If anything, I'm just hoping that they still have the urge to make claymation after Armikrog.

Speaking of Armikrog, I liked that they can still make some decent looking claymation based on my experience with Armikrog but I can see that they got rusty with the other aspects.
I'm hoping they can improve after Armikrog and make a game worthy to be on par or even better than The Neverhood. I always enjoy stopmotion stuff and these guys did it pretty well.

Im a huge fan of Oddysee and Exoddus, so I did enjoy New n Tasty, but I wasn't super impressed with it. The visuals were kinda cool, but the animations were kinda janky and the voices just seemed off, specifically the Mudokons and especially Abe. Instead of sounding meek and broken, they just sounded like bungling idiots. The chant animation and sound was weak as fuck too.

Still though. I did like it, and I'll be buying Soulstorm because Exoddus is my favorite video game of all time. I really want Oddworld Inhabitants to find themselves and start expanding the OW universe, so I'm willing to throw them some money in the hopes of a true revival someday. It may be a long shot, but why the fuck not.
