Lost coast is completely unrelated to the plot. Ep1 is meh. 2 is definitely worth playing.

If you enjoys HL2 then yes, go ahead and play EP1 and 2.
Lost Coast takes literally 5 minutes to complete, EP1 feels like leftover stuff from HL2, and EP2 feels like a proper follow up to HL2.
