Do you have a PS3/PS4? Look for it on PSN. I would avoid emulating this one just in case glitches ruin the experience - it's got a great story and brings teh feels quite a bit.

PC has built-in cheats so that if you're mainly focused on the story, you won't get stuck due to sucking at ATB RPGs. Graphic mods are an option, but as-is you definitely need a mod to fix the music. Considering it's a PS1 game, mods can only do so much, plus the pre-rendered backgrounds don't really get any higher-res.
