One of the things that (slightly) delayed Shantae's LR sales was that Steam and PSN were releasing digital copies of the games for around $9.99, when Limited Run wanted around $27.99 each.

Looks like it became Free to advertise their latest game Sundered. However, my problem with Jotun is that the gameplay is some of the worst I've ever played. Even random action flash games on newgrounds provide more than this.

Sure the art direction is amazing, but this also puts a worry for me on Sundered. That game looks great, but the gameplay may also be 100% shit.

Also least with a game like Pyre (comes out around the same time) has great music as well as art style, but with Pyre those devs provide mediocre gameplay at best.

Sure.
Basically, it's a bunch of minor things. Your walk speed is ridiculously slow, which isn't so bad against bosses (sort of), however certain aspects of the game will have you solving "puzzles" and will force you to back track in certain parts of these puzzle, taking forever to complete simply because your character is fat.

Rolling just stops you completely. You roll and gotta give your character sometime to actually recover. I understand that they gave it a lot of recovery, so you wouldn't find yourself just spamming roll as a means to travel faster around the world (which I approve), but I feel this is a poor solution to the mess since this really hurts you around the time you have to fight bosses.

Some bosses look like a "holy shit, how the fuck can I beat this tall bitch!" only to find out they only have 2 patterns and those attacks are really lame. This goes for the final boss, which is by far the laziest boss design ever. The only reason most of these bosses do become difficult is cause your character is fat, and she cant roll to save her life.

Game is pretty but bad. I'd never play it if it wasn't free.
Typical idea that everyone thinks it's cool and all but once executed it's clear that it becomes shit.

Never said it was hard for me. I only stated the only reason there is any difficulty what so ever is cause of your lack of mobility. Bringing up the final boss again and even in design, he only has one attack pattern and he dashes across the arena. This becomes a pain simply because you have to run alllll the way across the arena, just to catch up and do a few hits.

In terms of challenge, no. Game is quiet simple.

Pretty much. There's a big Sundered advertisement on Jotun's main menu.

If I remember correctly, Portal and Amnesia: The Dark Descent were both free for the same reason, but without the obnoxious in-game advertisement.
