I also picked it up way back.

It might be nostalgia goggles speaking here but I do recall it being really fun to play, was neat finding stupid magic spell combos to remove kebab with. Story is alrightish and there's some branching paths you can take in the later parts.

Multiplayer was also good but I assume that's completely dead unless you do something locally.

There was also some post-game pokemon collecting content which I never touched.

Oh boy time to see if it's any good.

It was probably one of my favorite games on the original DS.
I loved how you basically controlled a small army, and basically supported them with spell casting.

Dude this game is fucking great. It has nice challenge, and the magic system gives you tons of freedom. It is most def an RTS though, so don't get the wrong impression. If you have any questions in specific let me know.

It most certainly is not and does not. The super expensive ones are outliers and likely overvaluing it, even if it's factory sealed.

I mean it kinda was. It was a passable platformer at best with an entertaining gimmick. I pirated it way way back and tried to play the game by drawing EVERYTHING as a penis and balls so that was pretty entertaining but I got bored of trying to think of new ways to draw dicks to fit the shape templates for everything about halfway through.

This game is probably THE BEST ds game.
Story is pretty neat, strategy elements are easy to learn, at the start, and demanding at the end, and it has a super neat magic nomination set up part way through, by 2 hours in you'll be drawing runs faster than light and loving every second of it

It's one of those 'good idea, questionable implementation' kind of games. The magic system with drawn runes and multiple combinations is probably the most extensive magic system I've ever encountered. But the gameplay basically devolves into 'push your monsters to stand on the warp gates'. It's also balls hard, too. This was a game that could have used a sequel that ironed out the flaws of the original, because the core gameplay idea is still really great.

be prepared to make your own spell list with all the rune combinations
so many spells.

This game is legit what made me start wanting to play pure mages in rpgs so much. To this day i still always try to do magic focused builds in every game that allows it.
This game spoiled me with its ridiculously good magic system though. Not many games compare with it.

What makes Lost Magic's evil run so good is that you get to kill everyone who was your "friend" you get to hear them scream and beg you to stop. Then at the end she kills you like the idiot you are. Showing you that you were nothing the whole time and were foolish for siding with her.

Lost magic has an evil route? I kinda want to replay it now?
