Oh you missed out i'd say. The movement and actions aren't the most complex things, but the worlds are fucking majestic.

I don't have time to write up a dissertation on the level design and art directions, but it's really neat how they rendered so many things without having to 'wall you in' like Crash. Just play it sometime; try and glide across the river in Spyro 1's "Cliff Town" to get a taste of what I mean, and then play the rest of the game. 2 is my favorite and 3 kind of falls for that minigame-fest a lot of platforming trilogy thirds fall into, but still good.

I played the original ps1 games years after I found out about Spyro (I had played only the garbage gba and ps2 games at that point, A hero's tail aside) and they were comfy as fuck. Being an adult only makes me feel sad after because there is nothing else with a similiar comfy gameplay, tone and artstyle nowadays
