Did any of you guys buy into VR because of the price cuts and sales? Includes the headset, sensors, Xbox controller, Oculus Touch controllers and 7 games so it's not that bad of a deal. Pirated GORN, Arizona Sunshine, Superhot VR and Raw Data and I'm gonna buy Onward (Insurgency VR), BREACH IT (Rainbow Six VR) and Pavlov (Counter Strike VR) and I have a handful of games that already work with it (Project Cars/Elite Dangerous/Subnautica)
I got mine for $399 with a free $100 Amazon Gift Card. As much as I hate their business practices, I can't justify paying $799 versus essentially $299 for VR.
Said the same in a earlier thread, bought one as a yurop because of the sale.
450 is still a bit steep for a bunch of 3D glasses but since i once tried a headset (DK1) i got pretty much hooked on it, upgraded my PC a little while back so now is the time.

It's a confirmed fact that the bundle comes with a controller. Not sure if it comes with just the headset though but i'm pretty sure it does with the bundle.
>>383939198
but they don't mention it? just "surprise, have an xbox controller"?
Was that Amazon card related to the purchase or did you already have it?
>>383939340
It's mentioned before the consumer release, i've seen it on multiple sites too.
When i was searching for articles on the summer deal it was listed too i believe.
The whole package is almost 6 KG either.

Link on the confirmation? I mean, awesome if it does but im sure it would of been advertised
Also, Who else hopped in when Amazon added a hundred dollar gift card to the deal?
>Big price cut for Oculus+Touch
>An extra sensor is still $59

Why would you buy a rift again? google earth VR?
>>383939941
Rift can play Steam VR games
Can someone please tell me if it is still possible or will be possible again to get the bundle + gift card deal again or am I SOL?
>>383939941
>Thinking occulus somehow censors shit
No
>>383939941
Facebook and Zerkerberg are dicks but in the 4 years they've owned Oculus, they haven't done any forced login or concent control shit people ranted on about. You're free to play whatever depraved games you like outside of their store app.

SteamVR, problem solved
besides facebook, what are the actual differences between this and the vive?
>>383937025
bought a vive for 800$
No regrets, play the shit out of it, and find the experience one of a kind.

Hand tracking is limited to front, unless you have the sensors on opposite sides of the room or buy a third. Than you also need a USB3 port for each on top of the one for the headset. Meanwhile the Vive has just tracks 'lighthouse' boxes you can prop up with no pc connection needed.
Though I think the Rift has the better controller design. It's light and more 'in-hand', so it feels more like you're interacting with game stuff directly instead of through a pair of sticks. Vive are prototyping their own controller like that though.
