Why isn't splatoon E-/sp/ anyways? Is it just the lack of being able to set your own maps?
Seems like it'd be a pretty good team comp.
You can set your own maps in private battles though. I don't really know.
the japanese learned you can break the game by adding speed boosts to dyno rollers.
Splatoon 1 just didn't have spectator mode, and wasn't properly balanced since I know Rainmaker mode could be won by just getting an early lead, then bringing the RM back to your base and defending it for 5 minutes.
There's also a lot of broken shit like Splash Walls and the Kraken, where 1 Kraken can win a game easily, as well as Attack Up stacking Burst Bomb users, making what's supposed to be a last ditch attempt at saving yourself incredibly deadly, among other things.
Splatoon 2 comes with spectator mode, removed Attack Ups entirely, and has redone all the specials so there are no more panic buttons/get out of jail free cards. Combined with how Nintendo updated the ranking system and added League mode or whatever means that we can be looking forward to a genuine Splatoon 2 competitive community in the future. I'm personally blown away by how well Nintendo has handled it, so I'm hoping to worm my way into my own squad when the game comes out.
tl;dr, splatoon 1 was a mess balance wise, splatoon 2 is when you can expect true competition
