Kickstarter is proving time and time again that more money = more problems.

You see it every time.
>game gets put on kickstarter
>devs get shitloads of money, usually an order of magnitude higher than what they asked for
>game gets a bunch of stretch goals as a result
>more money means they have all the time in the world to make it
>dev team has no hard deadline when the money stops so they take their sweet time
>eventually the game falls apart

whereas
>game gets put on kickstarter
>game barely meets funding, no major stretch goals
>dev team has hard deadline, we got what we need and nothing more
>organize around it
>maybe a few hiccups along the way, but they push a finished product out within a reasonable window of their original date
