What jrpg will make me forget about life's troubles for 30+ hours?

Persona 5 lets you forget for over 80.

FFVII but only if you've never really delved into the genre before.
Persona 3 is eating up a lot of my time right now. Devil Survivor was a fucking radical game, played through that one multiple times (branching stories, 8 endings).
Sorry, I'm a pretty casual RPG person. I like platformers and puzzle games best.

You have to work, study, maintain relationships, etc

Xenogears.
You get to think about cool mechs and kiddie fiddling bishops instead.

Ni no kuni
Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2
Get them both in the PS4 collection, or emulate them. I don't care.

Star ocean 2
Legend of legaia
Guardians crusade
Saga frontier 2

Does it work well emulated?

Apparently there's problems where the game freezes during certain parts on an emulator.
I don't know myself, I'm playing the PS1 Classics version.

You will never enjoy the game if you play for that reason, never

Second for Ni no Kuni. Get past the mostly shit battle system, and the charm of the story will transport you to another world.
Also check out Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles if you haven't already.
