I'm not sure if you can get any armor that significantly increases curse protection at that point, but check your armor to be sure.
Also stacking humanity can greatly increase curse resistance, but of course you can lose it all.

You can sacrifice a humanity to temporarily increase Estus flasks you get from that particular bonfire by +5, also try equipping poison resistant armor and use purple moss.

I'm pretty sure any Humanity sacrificed to the bonfire will remain there, even after a NG+ cycle, and you'd always have that Estus alottment if you were to return there.

Honestly, I'd recommend nobody ever summon for Gaping Dragon. Neither bro really knows how to fight it, so you're just left with an even more ridiculous health bar than initially and a dead sunbro. Plus, once you've got the shortcut unlocked, you don't even need to fight anything to get back, so it's just a case of learning how to avoid his attacks and being patient.

idk if youre being facetious or not but Blighttown is my favorite fucking zone in the whole game, the only reason people hate is because the framerate issues on console compound the challanges youre already facing

Slow down and be more careful. Use your shield and observe enemy movesets. For basilisks in particular you should bait them one at a time if possible and give yourself enough room to move out of curse clouds.
