Why the fuck are Wii Us still so god damned expensive?
I go on amazon and a new one with mario cart pre-installed costs nearly 400 eurobucks.
Finding used ones is a fucking chore, since people almost always sell the console and tablet controller separately and in the end it still comes out to close to 300.
This is ridiculous.
>>
because it's a great console with fucking incredible games
>>
>>383903632
I'll sell you mine for 250 Euros, with Trauma Team, Twilight Princess, Monster Hunter, a Gamecube controller adapter, a Gamecube controller and a Wiimote + Nunchuck
>>
Its a Nintendo product.
>>
>discontinued
>Insanely easy to hack

That's why
>>
No idea. I waited years for a price drop or something. Then it was discontinued and the prices were still pretty much the same as in the launch.
>>
Wii U is basically the 21st century Sega Saturn
>>
>>383903632
Buying the almost if not entirely new refurbs directly from Nintendo is your best chance of getting one at a "decent" price if you can't find a good deal elsewhere as they include Nintendo's standard warranty so if something breaks they'll fix it.

>Why the fuck are Wii Us still so god damned expensive?

Pretty fucking obvious why, Nintendo don't want to give people a cheap alternative to play BotW. They want you to buy a Switch.
>>
i'll make a thread on it if i have to but this is semi related to this one. the super nintendo mini that's coming out, is that worth it? Comes loaded with a bunch of games and i don't really give a shit if i have the original i just want to play the games. do you guys think they will run out like last year? is pre ordering a good idea?
>>
>>383904572
Umm yeah, it's a pretty good bet that they are going to run out again as Nintendo refuses to make enough to meet demand and ebay scalpers buy as many as they can get their hands on making it even harder to find one in a store.
>>
>>383904572
Do you own a pc? Just emulate.
>>
>>383904732
Even if you don't own a PC you can emulate the SNES on damn near anything at this point. I play SNES games on my o3DS and they work fine.
>>
>>383903632
Because it was discontinued and ended production more than half a year ago. What do you think is going to happen to the price of an item when a company stops manufacturing it? Do you also expect brand new SNES's to cost $50?
>>
>>383904572
It's a question of whether you want THAT particular device.

It's pretty cool for sure, but if you just want to play the games get a Wii. You can literally pick one up for about $20 on ebay, they are easy as fuck to hack (there are tutorials everywhere, takes literally 5 mins) then you can play every NES, SNES, Gameboy, GBA and Sega game ever made (and GameCube games).
>>
>>383903632
Cheapest way to get a Wii U is to buy it refurbished directly from Nintendo.

>the wii can suddenly emulate saturn and dreamcast

Stop lying to people, jeez.
>>
>>383903632
You can find it for 150€ from second hand
>>

>Do you own a pc? Just emulate.
I have a laptop, and i did just that with nes games, but it wasn't the same. i'd like to play it with the original controllers on a tv. I know that's possible with a laptop but by the time i go through the hassle and whatever $, i may as well pay 70 bucks or whatever to get the closest thing to the original console as you can get.

>>383905063
that sounds decent but where do you get the games? those are hard to find and expensive, at that point, again i'd rather just pay 70 bucks and have the original thing(sort of). I really hope they don't run out again i'm going to try and preorder one i think. Looked at getting a nes from last year and it's like 400 bucks on average. fuck scalpers
>>
>>383905419
If you just want something you can plug into your TV and play with the original controllers then yeah I'd say the SNES mini is probably the easiest way to do it. If you want one you should definitely preorder it now, even if you later decide you don't want it you can resell it for more than you paid for it.

My Wii U gamepad finally shat itself after 4 years, if I send it in for repairs with ONLY the gamepad they won't be able to tell I have homebrew on it right?
>>
>>383905419
not sure how much snes flash carts cost, but you could probably get actual snes for cheaper than mini.
>>
>>383905874
I'm not sure they will accept just the gamepad, they'd probably want the system returned as well.
>>
>>383906029
I called customer service yesterday and I asked them specifically if I would need to send the console and the gamepad or just the gamepad and they told me just the gamepad.
>>
>>383905904
If they're anything like n64 flash carts he could buy 2 or 3 snes minis for the same price.
>>
>>383906174
Then yeah you should be safe. I don't believe there's anything stored on the gamepad that would be linked to homebrew.
>>
>>383903632
nintendo sells refurbished Wii U's on their website for 200 burger dollars

you can find them even cheaper on ebay but the condition will be like a greasy autistic kid used the system
>>
>>383905904
SD2SNES (the good one) costs like $200
>>
>>383906375
okay that's what I thought but I just wanted to be sure.
>>
>Discontinued
>The only home for exclusives this gen
>Easy as fuck to hack it and play 3 gens of games natively and emulate the rest up until 3ds.
Can't imagine
>>
>>383906271
hmh i guess those are quite pricey then. one could imagine that chinese would manufacture shit tons of those and sell for couple of bucks, but that's not apparently the case.
>>
>>383906852
And it still can't play any SuperFX games.
