The devs are yet again completely missing the point why these games were popular. The best part about these games were buying a shitty second hand car, go to your sunday cup and slowly grind your way to the premium sport cars, while trying to make your car collection perfect. A car pokemon game if you will.

What happened to Polyphony Digital, back then they made good games, Gran Turismo 1-4 were good entries and they even made something different with Omega Boost which was also good

Now they're only Gran Turismo and they aren't even capable of that, they take too much time to release a single game when other racing devs do it way faster and they look better sometimes

Sony babies them out of gratitude for making good system-sellers for the PS1 and PS2. The team has no idea how to work to a schedule or focus on the core feature set that makes the games actually appealing - they have free-reign to squander time and money on whatever self-indulgent novelty features they want rather than just delivering a solid game in a reasonable time frame.

Even the budget turnleft racing game has more content than GTS
