What's your favorite setting for games, anon?

I like cold war spy shit.
>>
>>383871232
wot games take place during cold war spy shit?
>>
Modern day because I'm a bore
Sadly it seems as if every combat franchise has wandered off to Near Future settings, which never appealed to me.
At least I have Insurgency and Squad
>>
>>383871232
I like semi-fantasy. Digimon and SMT's settings, for example.
Where it's set in a changing version of the real world, or the two world's are intersecting.
Doesn't have to have actual real world countries, but I like it to resemble it or at least be something parallel.
>>
>>383871232
I like intra-solar system scifis, much like The Expanse.
Not sure any games of that nature exist.
I really hate galaxy-spanning scifis.
>>
>>383871232
post-nuclear western
>>
Vietnam.
>>
>>383872364
What year?
>>
>>383871232
Strangereal for me
>>
'Post-apocalyptic', as long as it does something interesting. Fallout and STALKER are good examples.
High fantasy is also nice, what with its grand and beautiful worlds, races and people.

Fantasy, but without the whole fairy-tale meme.
>>

Zone of the Enders takes place on Earth, Mars and some colonies surrounding them, the furthest people go is Jupiter moons to mine stuff.
>>

Something like vanilla WoW. Making the run from razor hill or whatever to orgrimmar or seeing crossroads, arathi highlands, thunderbluff for the first time.
It felt massive and full of new adventures. It was fun to just be logged in.

Minecraft is nice with the right mindset, albeit shallow.
I would say TW3 is up there but ghost spooks don't do it enough for me.
>>
rpgs: futuristic/dystopian or the usual fantasy. space opera or 70s/80s is nice too.
shooters: open to pretty much anything except modern middle east (cowadoody overkill)
racing: really wish someone would make a racing game in 60s europe.
>>
>>383871232
Same as OP, with bonus points for dilapidated Eastern European locations.
>>
Bronze and Iron Age
>>
>>383871267
MGS 3
>>
Something that can be dangerous and scary, but comfy at the same time.
>>
>>383873843
Women?
>>
>>383871232
I like games with settings I haven't seen a million times before.
>>
>>383873967

wtf I'm gay now
>>
Comfy offroad racing.
>>
>>383871267
black ops 1
>>
>>383873701
the best metal gear, fucking pachinko machines
>>
Japanese high school
;__;
>>
stealth archer games
>>
Retro-Futurism. I love anything that takes an aesthetic from past decades and mixes it with sci-fi elements. Some examples are Alien Isolation, Warhawk, and the Fallout games. I just wish there were more games that used these sorts of settings.

i like games that take place in the modern world
>>
Field of view is pretty important
>>
>>383874303
You ever play Spintires? It's a comfy offroading game, not racing but really cool nonetheless. Hope you're doing well.
>>
>>383871232
My favorite is generic open-world procedurally generated fantasy setting with quick-time events and hour-long cutscenes
protip:
industry is proof

cyberpunk
futuristic
spess

i also enjoy cold war, though games based in that setting aren't common
>>
>>383871232
At the moment. I only play ARMA 3 - GTAIV - FO4.
>>
>>383874636

I'm waiting for money to buy a better PC to play it, don't wanna ruin the experience by playing on low settings with low fps. You seem like a nice dude, anon, enjoy your days.

Basically anything post apocalyptic, preferably nuclear related. But any game with good stealth also tickles my fancy little ringhole also
>>
Science Fantasy and tac-shooters in the modern day. Playing Destiny and Rainbow Six Vegas 2 a lot lately.
>>
Games in an open world city. Best when it's populated nicely and has comfy areas. A good example is Sleeping Dogs. Mafia II as well although there's not much to do it's pretty comfy just driving around. True Crime Streets of LA and Streets of NY were my childhood dreams due to the map sizes.
